Centennial Grand Prix

Recoleta-Tigre 1906-2006

 

This is the 11th Edition of a brilliant event organized by the Classic Car Club of Argentina. Only featuring vehicles dated prior to 1919, this event is feature presented at Recoleta Gallery Night were participants and curious visitors will be delighted with a classic car show, featuring some of the participating vehicles.

 

 

September 26th to October 2nd  

Expotrastiendas

The Argentine Art Gallery Asociation hosts Expo Trastiendas 2006. The behind the scenes for art lovers and collectors. This is a one of a kind event that takes place annually in the city of Buenos Aires, oriented to show talented renamed and upcoming artists, their works and their prospective future. This event is a must for world wide galleries and collectors.

 

From September 29th to November 19th  

23rd Casa FOA 2006 Design show

This is Argentina’s most prestigious design and decoration annual. Casa FOA’s show will take place at Lezama Palace. This is a very special location because of the fact that it works as counterpoint to three of the most avant-garde and artistically oriented neighborhoods of La Boca, San Telmo and Barracas.

Featuring over 57 architecture, interior design, and decoration and landscaping firms this show opens daily Monday thru Monday.

This year’s edition will also feature a special Photo show as an homage to Women entitled Women landscapes, black, white and gray nudes.

Contemporary Latin-American Art Conference

 

A collectors’ challenge Benefit for Malba Acquisitions.

Malba’s Friends association’s president Alec Oxenfrd and Sotheby´s organize this event for collectors and art lovers from around the globe to take part in the conference as well as to contribute to Malba’s acquisitions. The conference will be taught by María Bonta de la Pezuela Sotheby’s vice president.

The Metropolitan Design center of the city of Buenos Aires organizes this first Design Festival. Showing new and innovative projects and concepts, show rooms, presentations, workshops as well as product feature presentation, this event will have El Dorrego show center as its main scenario combining it with other design centers throughout the city of Buenos Aires.

Buenos Aires Photo 2006

 

Organizad by La Nacion newspaper and Arte al Dia this photo event will take place at the Palais de Glace. It’s the second edition to this Latin American Photography fair featuring over 30 specialized galleries from Argentina and the region. There will also be conferences, sponsor shops.

From July 5th to August 6 th

Special show organized by the Buenos Aires Toy Museum that will take place throughout the month of July and the first days of August 2006. Featuring Antique and Vintage toys of all times, toy and games inspired artwork, live shows and living statues, music and much more.

The perfect blend between toys and art is achieved by Bob Frassinetti and his team. This is a new, innovative and unique proposal of style and aesthetic approach to toys as collectibles and playful items. Dorrego Design Fair. All throughout the month of June From the 1st to the 30th at the metropolitan Center of Design, this annual fair features design products of all kinds: from clothing, shoes, jewellery, accessories, bags, linen, bazaar articles, furniture, lighting, textiles, toys and games,
etc. This year's edition will also show publishing and records vanguards.


JUNE 3 rd. Alfa Romeo Argentine Club Rally of the North
Alfa Romeo's first rally of the year takes place in Buenos Aires' northern sophisticated suburbs of San Isidro, heading towards the Baradero Racing Tracks. Endurance and regularity tests, will take place throughout the competition. Comradely lunch and awards ceremony celebrations will take place by the Parana River shore in a breathtaking scenario.



JUNE 6TH -10TH

Batimat Expovivienda. Expo Home & Construction. This Real Estate show takes place in the La Rural show rooms in Palermo.
Featuring everything for the construction of homes, this event also organized an international business table coordinated by Export AR Foundation.

JUNE 25th

Cordoba Antique Car Associations organizes and hosts the Cordoba - Carlos Paz Rally caravan. Going thru the Argentine Mediterranean province, this rally takes us into the precious hills of Cordoba in and around unspoiled natural paradises.





JUNE 30TH

Cow Parade Buenos Aires. The event that began on March 23rd comes to an end by the end of June. This art project featuring real size fibber glass cows decorated and painted by some of the most well known and famous Argentine Artists of all times. The artwork will be auctioned this June 30th and all profits will be donated to the Leloir Institute.

The 100th years celebration for the History of 100 years on Wheels, takes place on the river banks of this posh suburbs of Vincente Lopez, Buenos Aires. Organized by the community government under the leit-motif 100 years on wheels, the Secretary of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vicente Lopez will sponser this Second Antique, Classic and Historical Auto Show on the riverside boulevard.

From April 17th to May 8th 32nd International Book Fair of Buenos Aires This is one of the world?s most important book fairs ever after some of the worlds? most prestigious such as the Germany ones. The only of it?s kind in Latin America.

26th Argentine Rally and its the 6th Event FIA World Championship 2006. This 6th competition within the FIA World Championship will take place during the last week of April, between Thursday 27th and Sunday 30th in the Argentine province of Cordoba.

The organizers of the Event, under the direction of Carlos Alesandri head of the Cordoba Tourism Agency, expect over a million people to take part in this fabulous event taking place in the Cordoba Mountain ranges.

Rally experts from around the globe agree to highlight the fact that Argentina is a strong place within the rally world. Rally Argentina usually comes up with interesting testing innovations. And if a couple of years ago it was our country who innovated in the chronometer system that was latter on taken upon the rest of the world, as well as introducing the first super special test drive featuring a three car simultaneous start. This year the organizers have come up with yet one other surprise, as the event begins and finishes at the Cordoba Stadium, were a specially laid floor will provide the spectators a wonderful event and show. It?s also important to highlight the importance of the Argentine competitions within the world?s calendar. The event will be broadcasted live by Eurosport and ESPN.





April 28th First Gallery Nights of the year
The last Friday of April, Buenos Aires Art quarter in Arroyo St. opens up to an evening of sophistication, art, design and several surprise cultural events such as live music and conferences at the British Arts Center. Buenos Aires 8th Tango Festival; From February 24th to March 5th. Tango Films, dance lessons, ?filete porteno?, posters and photographs inspired on tango, the music and the dancers. The festival features a broad range of shows, spectacles and cultural activities. There?s also a great offer of tango items, from clothing and shoes to music and books? Dancers from around the globe have taken part in this year?s edition: Croatia, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Bulgaria, Switzerland , Colombia, Denmark, Austria, Untied States, France, Spain, Taiwan, Italy, Holland, Canada, Wales, England, Australia, New Zealand, Poland, Finland, Uruguay, Germany and Japan.

Wine Rally of Mendoza organized by Mendoza Clasics club, Porsche Club Argentina and Palmares Open Mall takes place on the first week of March at the Mendoza Hyatt Hotel. However this year the rally was postponed to the 16th, 17th and 18th of March due to security measured taken by the local government on ocation of the visit of South American presidents Lula, Chavez and Kirchner to the province of Mendoza.


?Feriagro?; March 8th to the 11th is one of the best local and international rural fairs for trade experts, farmers and businessmen of the fields. Trading the best used machinery can be found in Armstrong-Tortugas, Santa Fe, National Highway Route number 9 Km 407. Business experts from over 34 countries will visit ?Feriagro? to work out business with local entrepreneurs. Old Steam Tractors and other Farm Collectibles are to be seen at this Fair.

From March 9th to the 19th, Mar del Plata seaside resort dresses up for their anual International film Festival.

This year?s is 21st edition of the worldly known and treasured Film festival. This year the number of featured films is overwhelming as well as top quality. This festival, alike the others taking place around the globe, has become a reference point for non-hollywood silver screen presentations. The festival offers a broad programming rich in cultural and social approaches.

Actors, actresses, directors and producers such as Juliette Binoche, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon and Abel Ferrara will be presenting, showcasing and discussing their works and those of their fellow artists.



March 17th St Patrick?s day in Buenos Aires. Downtown Buenos Aires dresses in shiny shamrock green to celebrate the traditional Irish fest. Argentina has the largest Irish community in Latin America, being this also one of the largest in the world. The BA Toy Museum was invited by the BAC to organize a special show throughout the month of July this year to be held at the Center’s Show Rooms. Featuring Antique and Vintage toys of all times, toy and games inspired artwork, live shows and living statues, music and much more, this upcoming July the BA Toy Museum will in the center of attention in the world of art and collectibles.

July is a very special month in Buenos Aires, for it’s our winter holiday time, where the cultural world of the city opens for its strong season. The city’s cultural activities burst in this time of the year, aiming to a tough public: children, who are on their winter break, and parents, young students and voyagers from around the globe. Hence any activity has to be carefully thought thru to appeal each and every one of these public options as well as offering a wholesome conceptual idea.
At the same time, the last Friday of July we’ll also take part in Gallery Nights, the Arts and Culture monthly event in which Buenos Aires’ galleries and museums open their doors to the public during the evening to enjoy a night of glamour and sophistication.

We’re proud of the invitation and at the moment our team is working on the wholesome concept for the month show. We’ll keep all our readers posted on news and updates!
