Antique fair at the Faena Hotel and Universe ....
Last November, Buenos Aires dressed up for the grand opening of it's first and finest boutique hotel, the Faena Hotel. Designed by the Argentinean businessman Alan Faena and the brilliant expertise of the outstanding Philippe Stark this is not just a hotel, but the hotel of the moment.
Center to every social and business activity going on in BA, the Faena hotel is the hot spot, the it place, where everyone wants to be at right now.
Among the many social and cultural events hosted within the hotel facilities, it has recently open a sort of private antique fair for the hotel, it's guests and special visitors, and Buenos Aires Art Dealer was invited to take part of this experience.
Though it's very green yet, for there are several things to improve and organize in terms of space, time, advertising and functionality, this is a new and wonderful experience for all artdealers and artlovers living or visiting BA. We've participated for a couple of weeks exhibiting outstanding vintage toys and antique items of avant-garde design which we thought it would be a superb mix and that would blend fantastically with the hotel's spirit.
We've shared time and chats with other fellow artdealers that took some of their best items to specially exhibit and offer them to the sophisticated guests and visitors. These are just the first steps in a way we all find very promising, but there's a great need of better organization and location in order for our items to be appreciated in all their potential and for it to be a social event that the hotel management can capitalize as an avant-garde initiative of customized attention for its guests, visitors and staff.
At the moment, for the intense need of time and dedication we have decided to put the fair activity on hold until we can develop a proper strategy to blend this new activity with our intense research work on the matter of culture and history of art and antiques made or found in Buenos Aires, as well as the production of precise and valuable information that we share with our world wide friends on tourism in and around Argentina.
Looking forward on retaking this custom made market activity with better organization and perspectives, we share this interesting turn the world of antiques are taking here in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
